Debian Hardware Auto Detect

เนื่อง จากเคยเจอปัญหาว่า Debian หลังจากติดตั้งไปแล้ว ในบางครั้งมีการเปลี่ยน อุปกรณ์เช่น LAN card มันไม่ยอมรู้จักซะงั้น เลยลองค้นหาดูครับ

ได้คำตอบมาว่าให้ลง Package เหล่านี้

#apt-get install discover hotplug kudzu hwinfo nictools-nopci nictools-pci pconf-detect

reboot แล้วลองทดสอบ โดยใส่ card lan pci dlink, realtek, smc เครื่องรู้จักเองครับ

Just udev

kernel 2.6.x จะใช้ udev ตรวจสอบฮาร์ดแวร์อัตโนมัติอยู่แล้วนะครับ และความสามารถของ hotplug จะรวมอยู่ใน udev รุ่นใหม่ (>= 0.070-3) อยู่แล้ว จึงไม่ต้องลง hotplug อีก และในเครื่องผม ก็ไม่ต้องลงแพกเกจพวก discover, kudzu เพิ่มอีกเลย

แต่ discover อาจมีประโยชน์สำหรับเครื่องที่มีฮาร์ดแวร์แปลกๆ น่ะครับ ใครเคยต้องพึ่งแพกเกจพวกนี้ ช่วยเล่าให้กันฟังก็ดีนะครับ
